Description

I had never pointed at something at such a high declination before (+80).  Lots of neat though small galaxies to be found up there and it is making me decide to take the SW120 off the mount and put Newt back on.  The image is a crop of just the center of the field and the large spidery armed galaxy is NGC2336 and the smaller companion is IC467.  NGC2336 is thought to be about 100 million light years away with major axis of ~7 arc-min and I cannot find a distance for IC467. I was surprised to capture any detail at all with a 120mm scope with such a small pair of objects.

BlurXexterminator certainly helped a great deal especially with spiral details in core of NGC2336.  In the end I removed the stars and made slight adjustments with the galaxies alone to reduce a greenish cast. The de-screened Stars were slightly reduced with curves before putting back.  I think a faint trail of galaxies is just beginning to appear between the pair.
